My name is Chiang LupHong, I am a 22 yrs old self-taught painter lives and works in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Growing up in a godforsaken peasant village in Cameron Highlands, the absence of sophisticated media has made imagination a vital tool to picture any never-before-seen things - a scenery, a city or a country. Fantasy and dreamscapes were fundamental materials for me to express myself visually. Being largely influenced by Chinese folklore, symbolism and the oriental culture, I had always liked the presence of parasols, Foo-dogs, plum trees, boats and lanterns in my paintings. I wished to incur mode of celebrations in my every drawings and hope audience may find joy and excitement seeing the details of the painting.
